A special heritage charter train will be picking up passengers from Appleby and Kirkby Stephen stations for a festive trip to Chester this Christmas.

Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company welcomed Year 4 from Appleby Primary School on Thursday (19th January 2023) to travel to Settle as part of an art project they are creating for Appleby Station.

As part of the Appleby Art Project, Year 4 travelled from Appleby to Settle, to get inspiration for their artwork.

The Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company has worked with Settle Primary School to build a STEM room in the primary school grounds. Opened on Wednesday 22nd June, the STEM room will promote science, technology, engineering, and math education, and make it accessible to local schools across the Settle-Carlisle line.
