About Day Ranger Tickets…
A Settle-Carlisle Day Ranger ticket is available to purchase from booking offices and on the train. Valid from Carlisle to/from Leeds/Bradford Forster Square, it provides a hop on-off ticket for travel for a day.
You can also visit any manned railway station in the UK to get fares and buy tickets for the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line.
Railcards & Discounts…
Fares are dependent upon the journey being taken. Discounts for Dales Railcards and National Railcards do apply to travel along the rail line and beyond.
Holders of the Dales Railcards can benefit from discounts of 1/3rd off travel along the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle and Leeds-Bentham-Morecambe railways (subject to conditions of permitted area of travel). Annual winter special discounts off fares are also available during select periods of the year.
How To Purchase Tickets…
Tickets can be purchased online in advanced journey via Northern’s website, ‘on the go’ using Northern’s free mobile app, and at staffed stations along the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle route.
Leeds, Skipton, Settle, Appleby and Carlisle are all staffed stations where you can find the best advice about fares, travel and your journey. Ticket vending machines are also available at these stations for passengers wishing to purchase or collect tickets outside of ticket office opening hours.
If you have purchased a ticket online, you can collect your ticket by taking details to the booking office at any manned station, or from a ticket vending machine (available at selected stations along the route only).
If you have purchased a ticket through an online app, you must ensure the ticket has been downloaded to your device prior to starting your journey. You will be required to show your e-ticket at ticket gates and the conductor on the train.
Gift A Day Out To Remember…
Gift Vouchers for travel between Settle-Carlisle and Carlisle-Settle are available to purchase from our online shop. One voucher provides a day returns travel on one of the daily diesel services operated by train company, Northern.
