The Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line provides very useful connections by rail for travel to/from Scotland and London at Carlisle. At Leeds there are numerous connections to/from Scotland and the rest of the country.

How To Purchase Tickets…
Tickets can be purchased online in advanced using the Northern Trains website or by buying at stations along the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle route.
Leeds, Skipton, Settle, Appleby and Carlisle are all staffed stations where you can find the best advice about fares, travel and your journey. Ticket vending machines are also available at these stations for passengers wishing to purchase or collect tickets outside of ticket office opening hours.

If you have purchased a ticket online, you can collect your ticket by taking details to the booking office at any manned station, or from a ticket vending machine (available at selected stations along the route only).
If you have purchased a ticket through an online app, you must ensure the ticket has been downloaded to your device prior to starting your train. You will be required to show your e-ticket at ticket gates and the conductor on the train.
