We pride ourselves on offering you the best group travel experience. With their extensive local knowledge, our team will provide you with a wealth of information to ensure your groups journey is a memorable day out for all attending. Our team will work with you to create a travel package that suits your groups itinerary. The Leeds-Settle-Carlisle experience can be part of a short-break or day trip and the reasons to travel with us are many- sightseeing from the train; walking in the Yorkshire Dales or Eden Valley; shopping or a night-out in Leeds, Skipton or Carlisle or a birthday or anniversary treat.

Your Groups Journey
Your journey can start and end at any of the stations between Carlisle and Leeds (or further afield) and the cost will depend on the journey taken and the date of travel. The diesel sprinter trains operate daily (except Christmas Day & Boxing Day). To avoid over-crowding of trains, we limit all group bookings to a maximum of 53 passengers on any of the services.
We can arrange on-train refreshments for your groups journey. Our award-winning refreshment trolley service offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks, locally produced ale, tray bakes and biscuits, confectionery and, on some services, locally-made ice cream. For birthdays and other special occasions, we can give your party our personal attention to make your day one to remember! If you’d like to pre-order a refreshment package, please mention this to our team when making your booking with us.
Tours & Guides
The Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line (FoSCL) can provide an on-train guide to either provide a running commentary or, point out places of interest and answer your questions.
The guides have a wealth of knowledge about the rail lines history and architecture and can offer a unique insight into the local towns and villages that stem from the railway. All the guides are volunteers and whilst the availability of a guide can not be guaranteed, you can contact the on-train guide coordinator to request the services of a guide for your group.

Here is some of the feedback from groups who have booked with us recently…

We had great feedback from the trip and they really enjoyed the train ride travelling through beautiful scenery. We were also very lucky with the weather on that day, which always helps.
The group had an excellent journey to Carlisle. The weather was sunny and the rail trip was very smooth. The benefit of a guide was very well appreciated by our members, he was informative and gave great value to the journey. The lady who served the refreshments was also very friendly and helpful. We cannot speak highly enough of the service we enjoyed.
Our day was just about perfect. I had requested an on-train guide and Jack was on board to see us on at Ribblehead and stayed for the whole journey. Seats did have reserved notices…
The weather was unexpectedly glorious and there was even a steam special standing in Carlisle for 30 minutes as we waited for our train. Needless to say this attracted much attention.
Thank you again for all your help. We left no stone unturned and things could not have turned out better.

We all had a fabulous time last Saturday. hats off to the team who really went out of their way to make us welcome and looked after us going there and back, especially the conductor (Paul); he was a great hit with us all.
The volunteer, Eric, was perfect, warm friendly and informative – he really enriched our experience too.

We want to thank you for an enjoyable trip on Saturday/Sunday this last weekend. The weather on the way up was beautiful, hence the views were magnificent, a very different landscape with the snow the following day! The volunteer guide (my apologies to him, I can’t remember his name) and his small grandson Ben were extremely informative, we all found his wealth of knowledge very interesting, even some people sat around us, who were local, said they’d learnt a lot. I hope we didn’t traumatise the friendly refreshment lady too much, although she seemed to be enjoying our laughs with us. Thank you once again for the excellent service you have provided.
