NEW Timetables for the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle & Leeds-Bentham-Lancaster/Morecambe

The new N7 timetable for the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle and Leeds-Bentham-Morecambe rail lines starts on Sunday 16th of May and remains in operation until the 11th of December 2021.  Following the announcement of Northerns new timetabled services, The Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company, are thrilled to announce the return of our N7 timetable booklet. 

This season we have produced the booklet in both print and digital formats.  Printed copies of the N7 timetable are available to pick-up from select stations and tourist information centres along the rail line.  An extended edition of the N7 timetable is available to view and download from our website to your smart device.

  • buy your ticket online or pay by contactless
  • respect the social distancing rules
  • follow the instructions at stations and of staff
  • wear a face covering, unless you have a medical exception or a disability that prevents you from doing so
  • take your face covering and litter with you
  • wash your hands before and after your journey
  • avoid rush hour and travel at quieter periods where possible
  • allow extra time for your journey

Staycation Express Summer Timetables

The Staycation Express, an exclusive tourist-centred charter train service, returns to the Settle and Carlisle railway this summer with a new, luxury offering. 

From the 16th July to the 9th September, Rail Charter Services will provide two return journeys a day (except Fridays) operating between Skipton, Settle, Appleby, and- new to this year- Carlisle.  The Staycation Express will run alongside the railway’s daily diesel service, operated by Northern, to provide additional capacity on the Settle-Carlisle railway during the peak summer season.
