Whether it’s getting the kids back to school, commuting to work, or an extended stay in the region, the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company and Northern Trains are working hard to keep you and yours on track, on time and safe when travelling the rail line this September.
Northern Trains – New Temporary Timetable Service: 14th September – 12th December:
New travel timetables will come into effect across the Northern Trains network from the 14th September. To view travel times from this date, click the link below:
Changes to timetabled services are also being rolled out nationally from Monday 7th September. For national travel timetables, visit the National Rail website here.
Northern Trains – Additional Sunday 16:07 Service:
From Sunday 16th August, the Sunday 16:07 service departing from Carlisle will now call at Ribblehead, at approx. 17:17*, and Horton-in-Ribblesdale, at approx. 17:24*.
*Please note that the two additional calling points and times do not currently feature on the Northern Trains or National Rail online journey planners.

When travelling, you must wear a face covering on board the train (unless a medical condition or disability prevents you), try to avoid busy periods and check the times and plan your journey before you travel.

Whether you’re commuting to work or travelling for leisure, you can make great savings on travel costs with a Dales Railcard. The Dales Railcard costs just £10 and is valid for 12 months. The railcard provides savings of 1/3rd off the cost of tickets between all stations on the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle and Leeds-Bentham-Lancaster/Morecambe lines.
Dales Railcards can also be used for travel between Brampton and Wetheral, on the Tyne Valley line, and between Clitheroe/Whalley and Hellifield (Sundays only). Railcards can be purchased by residents of select postcode areas bounding the Settle to Carlisle railway; between Skipton and Carnforth, Carlisle and Brampton or in the Clitheroe/Whalley area.

Visit The Ribblehead Coffee Shop & Visitor Centre…
The Visitor Centre and Coffee Shop, located at Ribblehead station, is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00AM to 16:00PM. Both remain open until late Autumn, with doors closing for the winter on the 31st October 2020.
